To everyone who feels like life is getting the best of you right now, remember that God still loves you. You are still very much in the will of God. All is going according to plan. Trust that there is a bigger picture. Trust that life is indeed unfolding as it should. One thing that does help is to always remember to start each day by giving it to the Father.
-I just wanted to say that before i went into my thoughts on discipline.
moving on...
- In order to live a Christian life, one must have discipline
~A few rewards of discipline:
1) a lifestyle that is more orderly and less stressful
2) more productive
3) makes a positive impact on others
4) opens doors of opportunity
5) enables you to reach your goals (through Christ)
* discipline not desire determines our destiny. You may want to live right, but if you're not disciplined...
[and discipline doesn't just include what you do as flesh but also in spirit. Being discplined enough to ask God to step into your situation and help you resist temtation, for example, takes discipline]
Q: Name something of great value that doesn't take discipline to acheive it?
- Do you practice discipline in your relationship with God? with your relationships with other people? how you dress? what kind of music you listen to?
~To develop discipline:
1) decide today to read a portion of the word every day
2) pray to God everyday; not just about your needs, but just to talk to him and get closer to him and praise him, and to learn more about him..
3) tithe your income
4) attend worship every week so you can deepen and strengthen your relationship with God.
As Christians striving to step outside of this complacent, "American Dream" lifestyle, we need a core. We need a group of Christians striving to live life the way Christ actually said his followers would live. We need others around us to keep us encouraged. We need to be bold in our walks and proclaim The Gospel to the ends of the Earth, no matter the cost. We have to spark the revolution.
Scripture of the Day
"But I say, walk by the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." ~Galatians 5:16-18
